Many of us snack on protein bars to give us energy after an intense exercise routine. They can likewise be a practical travel snack, an occasional mini-meal when we are in a rush or a meal replacement if we are attempting to minimize our food intake.

In a majority of these cases, we are choosing protein bars to remain healthy and many times lose weight. Nevertheless, when you look at a grocery store rack loaded with products, how do you know which bars are better for burning fat?

What You Need to Know:

The bottom line is that we want to prevent sugar and processed foods. Some people look for "low carb" on product packaging, but you do not want to be deceived into eating a lot of processed low carb garbage either.

However, Theres an Obstacle ...

A big difficulty is that the majority of protein bars include a substantial amount of sugar, and some have a variety of several forms of sweetener. Some labels even detail sugar as the main ingredient!

I realize that a sweetener enhances food flavor, but protein bars which contain a great deal of sugar are basically candy bars disguised as a healthy snack, in my opinion. This is similar to a chocolate chip breakfast muffin - isnt that actually a cupcake in reality? Hmm ...

What to Look for if You are Looking to Slim Down:

If you desire a very sweet protein bar, thats ok. It simply will not help you in burning fat. If you are planning to lose weight or preserve your weight under control, search for nutrition bars that have no processed sweeteners.

This can be difficult, and you will often have to search for a natural food bar that does not include any processed ingredients. An example would be a trail mix bar that contains a combination of natural nuts and seeds with plain coconut or dried fruit.

If you are searching for reduced sugar, high protein bars, there are some nut and seed bars with protein powder added, like egg white protein powder. Many paleo athletes select these kinds of protein bars, since they do not contain milk and they dont have wheat as well.

Some More Advantages ...

An additional advantage to eating a low-sugar or no-sugar treat is that it will reduce your appetite for even more sugar. Have you ever finished a high-calorie protein bar and immediately desired more? This is likely a sugar craving, and consuming another bar will definitely not help you lose weight.

Low sugar, unrefined protein bars are normally simpler to digest and provide a good deal of nourishment naturally. Things like nuts and coconut are high in healthy fats, and are therefore helpful for satisfying appetite and food yearnings.

Paleo protein bars are low in sweetener and usually have a significant amount of protein. Too see a comparison chart of different options, click below.
